ONTARIO ELECTRICITY REBATE (OER) ELIGIBILITY
The Ontario Electricity Rebate (OER) is a provincially funded rebate that applies as a credit on qualifying electricity bills.
How to apply
If you meet the eligibility criteria listed below, please submit an OER Eligibility Form in order to receive the rebate.
Updated Ontario Electricity Rebate Form
On July 1, 2022, eligibility criteria for the Ontario Electricity Rebate (OER) program will be expanding to capture three additional types of consumer accounts:
1) Common areas in residential multi-unit complexes such as condominium buildings
- Must be predominantly residential.
- Complex must contain at least two "qualifying units".
- At least 50% of the units in the complex must be qualifying units.
2) Retirement residences
- Multi-unit complexes (other than long-term care homes, which were already eligible) where at least 50% of the units are occupied or intended to be occupied as a permanent residence by people aged 65 or older (not related to operator of complex) and where at least six people aged 65 and older live.
3) Mobile home parks
- Land on which one or more occupied mobile homes are located and includes rental units and the land, structures, services and facilities of which the landlord retains possession and that are intended for the common use and enjoyment of the tenants of the landlord.
- Note: Trailer parks are expressly excluded.
*Eligible customers may receive the OER rebate on the subtotal of their electricity bill
