Notice to Our Valued Customers - Hydro One Stanley Transformer Station Refurbishment

Published Date
Friday, August 20, 2021

Please be advised that Hydro One is currently in the middle of a major refurbishment project at their Stanley Transformer Station. This station was originally placed into service in 1958 and much of the equipment on site has reached end of life. The project involves the replacement of one 75MVA station transformer, breakers and control room. Stanley Transformer Station is where Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. (NPEI) connects to the Hydro One system to receives its power. In order to accommodate this project, NPEI has had to reconfigure its system. This reconfiguration has resulted in an increase in feeder length which may or may not result in an increased number of momentary outages also known as "autos" due to the breaker auto reclosing. Rest assured NPEI will do everything possible to limit the number of "autos" but we would like to make you aware of this temporary condition on our system. Construction is expected to conclude at the end of 2021 at which time our system will have been restored to normal.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this project and once completed we will be able to enjoy a new, more safe and reliable source of power for years to come.

If you have any concerns about the project, the Hydro One customer service number is 1 (888) 664-9376.
