As the holiday season approaches, Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. (NPEI) is providing its customers with an easy and impactful way to give back to their local community.
From October 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, NPEI invites its customers who are currently receiving paper bills to make a difference by switching to paperless billing (eBilling). NPEI has pledged to donate $10 to one of several local charitable organizations for every customer that makes the switch during their eBilling campaign.
This initiative not only offers convenience to customers but also serves as a remarkable opportunity to give back to the community this holiday season. “As the local utility for the City of Niagara Falls, the Town of Pelham, the Town of Lincoln and the Township of West Lincoln, NPEI is committed to fostering a sense of community and understands the importance of supporting local organizations that serve our customers,” says Sue Forcier, Vice President of Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs. “We want to encourage all of our customers to join us in our efforts to make a positive impact not only for our environment, but in our local communities.”
The organizations that NPEI will be donating the proceeds of the campaign to are Project SHARE, The Hope Centre, Community Care of West Niagara and West Lincoln Community Care.
“Project SHARE is grateful to be included in the Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. eBilling Campaign,” says Pam Sharp, Executive Director of Project Share. “Donations made will help Project SHARE provide emergency food and support services to help keep our Niagara Falls neighbours fed, housed and healthy.”
In addition to supporting local charities, NPEI underscores the importance of local hydro services. As a community-focused utility provider, NPEI has been a reliable source of electricity for their customers, contributing to the area's growth and sustainability. “As the populations in our service territories grow, we are meeting those needs to ensure everyone has access to a safe and reliable source of electricity,” says Forcier. The eBilling Campaign exemplifies NPEI's dedication to not only providing exceptional services but also reinvesting in the community that has supported it for decades.
“West Lincoln Community Care is serving more households than historically recorded in our 40 years of service,” says Sharlene Volpatti, Manager of Client Services and Food Bank at West Lincoln Community Care. “Individuals and families are struggling with inflation, the cost of housing, the cost of living and finding themselves slipping below the poverty line. Donations to our organization from the NPEI campaign will be used for critical food purchasing.”
To register for eBilling, customers can visit NPEI’s website and sign up for the MyAccount customer portal, which will automatically enroll them into eBilling, or contact NPEI’s office by phone to make the switch.
