Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. (NPEI) is proud to support Hydro One’s restoration efforts in Peterborough, Ontario, by deploying several of our skilled powerline workers to assist in power restoration. This support follows a severe ice storm that caused significant damage throughout Hydro One’s service territory.
Hydro One is facing extensive damage caused by freezing rain and ice accumulation, marking the most severe weather event the utility has encountered since the ice storm of 1988. In a statement shared on social media, Hydro One acknowledged the immense challenges posed by the storm and made a formal request for assistance through the Ontario Mutual Aid program. NPEI promptly responded, demonstrating our commitment to helping Ontarians restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
“We are proud to offer our Powerline skilled workers to support power restoration efforts,” said Shanon Wilson, Senior Vice-President of Asset Management at NPEI. “Our crews are working alongside Hydro One to restore service to affected communities, reinforcing our dedication to mutual aid and community support.”
